About Julia…

Julia S. Saldivar, age 89 passed away at home on August 21, 2020, surrounded by loving family and the Lord. Julia was born November 7, 1930 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ever since she was a young girl, Julia loved God and remembered attending church with her mother in Texas, and while they lived in Mexico for a few years of Julia’s life. Julia continued to be very close to God and prayed for all of her family to be safe and healthy, until she took her last breath.

Julia loved pink roses, walking around her neighborhood, cooking (especially baking cookies), and chatting with friends and family on the phone and around the kitchen table. More recently, she became quite an artist while practicing art therapy. Her favorite projects were of beautiful flowers created with metallic markers. While she never achieved her dream of becoming an “office businesswoman,” Julia thrived as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and affectionate homemaker.

Julia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Luis G. Saldivar, on June 1, 1949. They traveled all over the world while Luis served their beloved country, in the United States Armed Forces. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Luis, Julia and four daughters made their home in Tucson, Arizona, where Julia has resided since.

Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Luis, her parents Angelita and Jesus Salazar, and Julia’s siblings. She is survived by daughters, Angelita (Eliud) Flores, Maria (David) Delbridge, Rosalinda Fuentes, and Bonnie (Peter) Jones; grandchildren, Monica and Marco Delbridge, Isaac Flores, Luis Carlos and Hector Fuentes, Julia Francine Ojeda, and Rosalinda Quita Causor, and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held at Bring’s Broadway Chapel on Friday August 28, 2020 from 1-4pm. Julia preferred her loved ones utilize “virtual visitation services” to slow the spread of COVID-19. One of Julia’s final wishes was that everyone stay safe, stay home when possible, wear a mask, and wash hands “a lot.”
